1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using MyJapaUK, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. What MyJapaUK is
MyJapaUK provides calculators, checklists, directories, and community tools aimed at Nigerians and other Africans living in or moving to the UK, including a coordination tool for ajo/esusu savings circles and a personal document reference vault.
3. Not professional advice
Nothing on MyJapaUK is immigration, legal, financial, tax, or medical advice. We are not OISC-registered and don't advise on individual immigration cases. Calculators give general, illustrative estimates — always confirm figures with the relevant official source (gov.uk, HMRC, your employer, a regulated adviser) before relying on them.
4. Ajo/esusu circles
MyJapaUK only tracks contribution schedules and payment status that members report themselves. We never collect, hold, transmit, or have access to circle funds — all payments happen directly between members, outside the platform. We are not responsible for a member who doesn't pay what they owe; circles are formed on trust between their members, not guaranteed by us.
5. Document vault
The document vault is for storing copies of documents for your own reference. It is not a certified or bonded custody service, and you must never upload your only copy of a document or treat an uploaded copy as a substitute for the physical original.
6. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login details and, for admin accounts, your two-factor device secure, and for the accuracy of information you provide. You must be at least 18 to create an account.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use MyJapaUK to harass others, upload unlawful content, misrepresent an ajo circle to defraud its members, or attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the service.
8. Free and paid features
Core tools are free. Some features may require a paid subscription; where that applies, pricing and what's included will be shown clearly before you're charged.
9. Limitation of liability
MyJapaUK is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for losses arising from reliance on calculator estimates, disputes between ajo circle members, or content you store in the document vault.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
